Contemporary Fashion With A Western Flair

Fierce and fashion-forward, Judy Campbell transformed a musty coal room on Main Street into the first eclectic women’s clothing boutique in Durango in 1973. Judy’s vision was to offer a funky blend of unique wearable art and Durango’s western style to every woman in town. Judy is known for her incredible eye and infectious sense of humor—with the priority to serve the customer. Call it casual cowboy, country chic, or just Durango’s favorite style—Smelter’s has the perfect outfit for you.

Risen like a phoenix from the ashes, Smelter’s is more vibrant than ever. Judy joined partnership with Lynn and Robby Campbell—who relocated from New Jersey to in Durango a few years ago. After a fire destroyed the core of the Neuman building in the spring of 2009, the team renovated and expanded. Decorated from floor to ceiling by local artists, there is now more space for women in the community to connect. We invite you to bring your friends and family in for a glass of wine, local insider Durango tips, and some hearty laughs.
